Desirae and Derek had their ceremony at David Wally’s Hot Springs Resort in Genoa, which is a small town south of Carson City. The beautiful thing about David Wally’s is that it’s a time share resort, so there are always plenty of rooms available for the wedding party and any guests who may want to stay and party late into the night without having to worry about the long drive back to Reno.

They hold their ceremonies in an open field, which has a gorgeous view behind the wedding arch. Plus there is this great mountain, which shields the sun’s harsh light, starting in the late afternoon, so the pictures are to die for. Vesta and I are very good wedding photographers, but even an amateur photographer will have an easy time getting great photographs of the bride and groom during their ceremony.

Desirae got ready in the pretty room the resort has for brides. Her dress was gorgeous, but not as gorgeous as she was. Well, any dress out there in wedding dress land would have a hard time outshining Desirae on her wedding day. She glowed through all of her photos and you only have to look at them to know that I’m telling you true.

Derek got ready in the condo the couple had rented, which was convenient for us, because he and his groomsmen were only a short walk away. We like doing black and white photos, because we think they add a little something special for a bride to look at years later and we did several of Derek and his crew. However, we always deliver the color versions as well.

The formal photos after the ceremony went off without a hitch and the reception lasted well into the night and as usual, Vesta and I were there right up till the bride and groom said their goodbyes.
