Day 301, Zack.

Untitled photo
Here is Zack, out in front of Harrah’s Casino near the Reno Sign in downtown Reno. Vesta and I caught him just as he was packing up his giant video camera at a quarter to seven. I see those big cameras and I get camera envy and the first thing I want to do when I get home is fire up Amazon and buy something.

Not a camera as big as Zack’s, cuz he’s a cameraman for KTVN TV here in Reno, but, you know, a camera newer than mine. That’s always been a problem for me, wanting a new camera. But then, who doesn’t want a new camera?

I’ve wanted a new camera for as long as I can remember. And as soon as I get one it seems I’m a very happy camera camper for about a week, then I start wanting a new camera. It’s a sickness, I know.

In fact, one time I left Henry’s Camera in L.A. with a brand new Canon and I started wanting a new one as soon as I got in the car. I had money in my pocket, so much to Vesta’s chagrin, I went back into Henry’s and bought a Nikon F2.

Two new cameras in one day. It was like one of the the happiest days of my life.

Now Vesta has imposed this really stupid rule on my life. Only one new camera every other year. Jeez.

But the Oly EM1 MK 2 is coming out soon and my two years are almost up. But the Panasonic GH5 is coming out soon and I really, really want that, especially if it does 6K video. But the Canon 5D MK 4 is coming out around the same time. But, but, but—

How can I ever choose? Oh, Vesta, Vesta, Vesta, why can’t you give me a larger camera allowance.

Anyway, back to Zack. He told me he’s the new Luis. That means Luis got a better job at the station and Zack’s doing the early morning cameraman job. So congrats from me and Vesta to both Luis for getting the promotion and to Zack for getting the job.
