Molly and Brandon

Brandon and Molly's Speedboat Beach, Lake Tahoe Engagement Photos, by Wedding Shots Wedding Photography, Reno, NV

Molly and Brandon wanted to do their engagement shoot at Speedboat Beach, which is a very small beach on the California Side of Northern Lake Tahoe. And when I say small, I mean small. It might look larger than it is in the photos, but it’s not. A couple years ago, when we had all that snow, the beach was under water, because when it snows a lot, Lake Tahoe rises.

Finding a place to park is almost impossible. If you google it, you’ll find that it’s called a neighborhood beach. I didn’t even know there was such a thing. I think in California all beaches are public and there has to be access to them for, you know, poor people who wanna go to the beach.

And there is access to the beach, but if you didn’t know where it was, you’d never find it. And once you did find it, you gotta find a parking spot. And that’s not so easy, because even if you do find a spot, they got these signs that say, you’ll be boiled alive in reclaimed car oil if you park there for more than fifteen minutes.

But it is a public beach. And we had directions. But we had to park a long way away and walk in. However, once there it was gorgeous and those lucky few who have houses there have a wonderful view.

It was bright and sunny the day we were there, but we brought our own shade, a large umbrella, which Vesta held above Molly and Brandon while I took the pictures. Shade, it’s a wonderful thing photographers dearly love.
